New Hampshire Bankers Association Holds its Annual Meeting and Election of Officers and Directors
The New Hampshire Bankers Association (NH Bankers) elected Officers and Directors for the coming fiscal year during its Annual Meeting held on June 21, 2019. The meeting was well attended, with almost 150 members of the New Hampshire Banking industry.
NH Banker members voted to elect Steven Webb, Market President-NH of TD Bank, as Chairman of the Board for the coming year. Mr. Webb, who previously served as Vice-Chairman, is succeeding Mark Pitkin, President and CEO of Sugar River Bank.
Also elected to the NH Bankers Executive Committee were Richard Wallis, President and CEO of Piscataqua Savings Bank, as Vice Chairman; Reginald Greene, Jr., President and CEO, Claremont Savings Bank, as Treasurer; and Ronald Magoon, President and CEO, Franklin Savings Bank, as Secretary.
NH Bankers welcomes four new members to its Board with this election. James Brannen, President and CEO of Federal Savings Bank; Jack Clancy, CEO of Enterprise Bank; Linda Lorden, President of Merrimack County Savings Bank; and Kenneth Sheldon, NH State President of Bank of America, were all approved as new members of the NH Bankers Board of Directors. Re-elected to the NH Bankers Board for 2-year terms were Ann Lally, President of Salem Co-operative Bank; Ronald Magoon, President and CEO of Franklin Savings Bank; and Steven Webb, Market President-NH of TD Bank.
Several esteemed speakers at the event included Jerry Little, Bank Commissioner, State of New Hampshire Banking Department, who shared the current state of financial regulation in the State, Rob Nichols, President & CEO of the American Bankers Association, who gave an update of advocacy efforts for the banking industry in Washington DC; and Dr. Jeffery Thompson, a senior economist and policy advisor in the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Research Department who provided a regional economic outlook.
We also had the pleasure of hearing from Perry Plummer, Assistant Commissioner of the NH Department of Safety, who spoke about emergency preparedness in the workplace, followed by a panel discussion about employee retention and recruitment methods. The panelists were Scott Power, Director-Outreach & Communication at NH College and University Council; Will Stewart, Executive Director at Stay Work Play NH; and Pubali Chakravorty-Campbell, CEO, Human Resource Partners.
Rounding out the day was our special guest, The Honorable Jeanne Shaheen. Senator Shaheen spoke about the importance of investing in the New Hampshire economy and support of small businesses.
